Our Beloved Planets

Today I will be telling you about our beloved eight planets, one being earth.

Mercury

Mercury is the smallest planet in our solar system. Mercury is known to be a little bigger than our moon on earth. It is Mercury that is the closest to the sun and the fastest planet in our solar system to go around the sun. It only takes 88 earth days. And it has no moons.

Venus

Venus is the hottest planet in the solar system. Venus spins slowly around the sun in the opposite direction of most planets. Venus also has a thick atmosphere to trap heat in.

Earth

Our amazing planet Earth is the only one that we have with plants and life. And it's the only planet we know of with our air. Finally, it is the only planet with water.

Mars

Mars is a desert-like planet with a thin atmosphere. There is a lot of evidence that Mars used to have a strong atmosphere and was a wetter planet altogether.

Jupiter

Jupiter is the biggest planet and more than twice the size as all the other planets. The red dot on Jupiter is an old storm that's bigger than Earth.

Saturn

Even though all the other big planets have rings, none are as big as Saturn's. Saturn's rings are made of ice.

Uranus

Uranus is the 7th planet from the sun. Uranus spins at a 90-degree angle. This angle makes Uranus spin on its side.

Neptune

The planet with the most distance from the sun is Neptune. Neptune is also the first planet to be located through a mathematical equation because you can't see it with your eyes. Source: NASA Science
